Global Sourcing Expo Returns To Sydney in June With More Sourcing Opportunities Than Ever Before

Following the success of hosting two editions of the world-renowned Global Sourcing Expo in 2023, the International Exhibition & Conference (IEC) Group has once again added a Sydney and Melbourne Show to the 2024 line-up.

“We’ve seen the huge demand that both cities have for our unique global offering and are looking forward to an exciting year ahead, with double the opportunity to bring local buyers and some of the best exhibitors from around the world together for a three-day sourcing extravaganza,” comments IEC Group CEO Marie Kinsella.

“It’s important to note that while the Sydney and Melbourne shows may offer some of the same exhibitors, each edition of the Global Sourcing Expo is completely unique, with an array of surprises in store for those who choose to attend both events,” Marie adds.

Registrations have opened for Global Sourcing Expo Sydney, which is set to take place from 12-14 June 2024 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney. Victoria visitors will need to wait a bit longer to register before the doors to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre open from 19-21 November 2024. As in previous years, Global Sourcing Expo Melbourne will be co-located with the prestigious Footwear and Accessories Show.

‘The first global wholesale sourcing show of its kind’

The origins of the Expo date back to 2010, when Australian demand for high-quality international products began to boil over. Today, the Global Sourcing Expo offers exhibitors in the fields of apparel, textiles and homeware the opportunity to directly target over 5000 trade buyers and industry professionals in two of the country’s thriving fashion capitals.

“There are very few events of this nature where global exhibitors can connect with buyers-not only from some of Australia’s beloved brands like Kmart, Target, THE ICONIC, Aldi and TK Maxx, but also with buyers from boutique and emerging brands,” says Marie. “We’re proud to share that 56% of visitors surveyed after our 2023 shows shared that they had placed orders with exhibitors, with a further 86% saying that they had connected with new suppliers at the event.”

Marie and her team are expecting over 500 exhibitors from 20+ countries at the 2024 Global Sourcing Expo in Sydney, many of whom are considered the leaders in their respective markets. “Exhibitors also have the unique advantage of benefiting from an extensive marketing campaign in the run-up to the event, maximising their exposure and helping them get their foot in the door of the lucrative Australian and New Zealand markets.”

Exhibitors range from SMEs to high-profile Trade and Industry Associations, with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations, Taiwan Textile Federation and Korea International Trade Association as just some of the big names who have participated in previous shows.

“The Global Sourcing Expo provides an unparalleled opportunity for buyers to test the look and feel of internationally-produced products for themselves. We take great pride in the exceptional quality of exhibitors we continue to secure over the years, by giving vendors and suppliers a platform to meet their perfect buying partner,” says Marie

An opportunity to discover and capitalise on trends

The Global Sourcing Expo puts huge emphasis on innovation and trend forecasting through their Global Sourcing Seminar sessions, a program that has previously included global and local powerhouses like Ian Bailey, CEO of Kmart and Paul Zahra, CEO of the Australian Retailers Association in 2023.

This year, they’ve added a dedicated Trends Hub for visitors to engage with in both Sydney and Melbourne. It will highlight the latest and top trends in the industry, giving attendees a glimpse into what’s new and what’s next. From fashion and home decor to textiles and sustainability, the Trends Hub showcases a wide range of products and ideas that are shaping the future of the industry.

“We look forward to sharing more exciting details on our world-class lineup of speakers, exhibitors and partners in the months ahead as we gear up for our first Sydney offering. The immense value of these shows is enhanced by its accessibility, as it continues to be free to all members of the industry looking to expand their supplier networks and discover global trends,” says Marie.

“The positive feedback we received from visitors and exhibitors following our 2023 editions showcased the huge appetite for global connections and the expansion of sourcing opportunities on Australia’s doorstep. This year we will build on that success and deliver immense value to all participants,” she concludes.
